Cross-Country Skiing in Focus – Sebi Eisenlauer and Dani on Analog Film

In the winter, when the snow-covered landscapes of the Allgäu shine in quiet splendor, a special photo series was captured on analog film. Former Olympic participant Sebi Eisenlauer and Dani were the focus of the shoot as they glided through the expansive winter landscape while cross-country skiing.
Using the Nikon F5 and an 8mm fisheye lens, the dynamic movements of the athletes were captured. The Ilford HP5 film provides high-contrast black-and-white images, emphasizing the physical effort and aesthetic beauty of the winter sport. The vast snow-covered landscape and the intensity of cross-country skiing are brought to life through the fisheye lens.
This photo series focuses less on the technique of cross-country skiing and more on the dedication and energy of the two athletes. It captures the atmosphere of the moment: the crunching of snow under skis, the clear breath in the cold air, and the dynamic movement—all preserved on film that reflects the essence of winter sports in their purest form.
